ViewLink enables a user to locate a keyboard, monitor and mouse station up to 300m away from the host computer, and sets new standards for signal extension at a very attractive price.
Rose Electronics, the pioneer of KVM (keyboard-video-mouse) switching technology, has released the new ViewLink KVM extender range ViewLink enables a user to locate a (KVM) keyboard, monitor and mouse station up to 300m away from the host computer, and sets new standards for signal extension at a very attractive price

The two-port Bliss allows two computers to be controlled from a single KVM console, and simultaneously switches between them.
Cable system specially designed for KVM transport
Rose Electronics reckons its Ultra5 cabling system offers improved performance and economy over conventional Cat5 based KVM systems.
The video signal can be any VGA or similar format and the keyboard/mouse interface can be either PS/2 or USB.
ViewLink is perfect for applications that demand exceptional video quality over distance, such as television studios, digital signage, access kiosks, educational institutions, airports, offices, ships, aircraft, and harsh industrial environments such as factories or manufacturing plants.
ViewLink's self adjusting distance equalisation and skew compensation techniques save time and trouble on installation and mean that ViewLink will work straight out of the box.
ViewLink will initially maximise its own set-up for optimum initial performance and will then continuously self adjust to maximise video quality should operating conditions (cable length or type or video output) be changed.
Video resolutions up to 1600 x 1200 at 60Hz are supported.
Dual-user versions of ViewLink allow an additional video monitor or a complete KVM workstation to be located locally with the computer, increasing accessibility options for local and remote users.
ViewLink supports the VESA enhanced DDC video standard and will work with both PS/2 or USB type keyboard and mouse for true plug and play compatibility.
At the local (video source) end, ViewLink's onboard processor emulates console presence, so that a computer will boot and stay booted even with the remote video not present or turned off.
ViewLink's firmware is held in Flash memory, so future product software updates can be easily downloaded and installed.
It is expected that future upgrades will permit full function USB remote ports, serial ports and audio support.
For more flexible solutions, ViewLink can be connected to a Rose KVM switch, providing access over structured cable to an unlimited number of CPU/Servers, serial devices and power outlets in the corporate data centre or computer room environment.
Rose Electronics will launch ViewLink at CeBIT 2006, Hall 14, Stand G.04.
