Two new voltage regulators from Rohm Electronics offer simplified circuit layout and reduced component count by combining stable dual outputs with built-in protection.

Two new voltage regulators from Rohm Electronics offer simplified circuit layout and reduced component count by combining stable, dual outputs of either 3.3 and 2.5V or 3.3 and 1.8V with built-in protection The BA33C25FP and BA33C18FP two-channel, low-dropout-voltage regulators are designed for input voltages between 3 and 16V and maximum currents of 1A

The respective output voltages of 3.3/2.5V and 3.3/1.8V are precisely controlled to within +/-2%.

Ideal for a wide variety of space-limited applications, the new low-dropout-voltage regulators integrate a PNP power transistor with built-in over output current protection circuitry that prevents the IC being damaged in the case of a short circuit.

An onboard thermal shut down circuit provides protection against thermal breakdown.

The BA33C25FP and BA33C18FP are supplied in compact TO252-5 packaging with dimensions of just 6.50 x 5.50 x 2.30mm.

Rated operating temperature is between -40 and +85C, while power dissipation for both devices is 1000mW at 25C.
