E2PROMs store monitor identification
Rohm Electronics has a new series of E2PROMs for storing identification and operational information needed for true 'plug-and-play' connection of CRT displays to computer systems.
Rohm Electronics has launched a new series of E2PROM devices that are specifically designed to store the key identification and operational information needed for true 'plug-and-play' connection of CRT displays to computer systems Incorporating a full implementation of the VESA DDC1T and DDC2T interface standards for monitor identification, the new BR24C21 series of CRT display ID ROMs are 1Kbit serial E2PROM devices based on a 128 x 8bit structure

LED drivers run straight from the mains
AC/DC modules integrate LED-driving control circuits, switching elements, isolation transformers and constant-current circuits into a single SIL package.
Minimum data retention period for each device is ten years with endurance rated at 100,000 erase/write cycles.
The BR24C21 ID ROMs are available in a choice of miniature DIP-8, SOP-8, SOP-J8 and SSOP-B8 style packaging and offer typical active and standby currents of just 1.5mA and 10uA, respectively.
Maximum power dissipation is between 350 and 800mW depending on the package chosen.
Providing transmit-only, recovery and bidirectional communications modes, the new BR24C21 ID ROMs maximise the security of the stored data through a write-enable feature and a function that inhibits data writes at low voltages.
The devices are designed for use with supply voltages of between 2.5 and 5.5V and will operate at temperatures ranging from -40 to +85C.
