A new five-channel video driver IC combines built in lowpass and bandpass input filters with integrated mute functions to significantly simplify the design of DVD equipment.

Rohm's new five-channel video driver IC combines built in lowpass and bandpass input filters with integrated mute functions to significantly simplify the design of DVD equipment.

Capable of driving 75ohm loads, the new BH7860FP also features onboard 'sag correction' circuits.

The BH7860FP allows all five channels (Y, C, Y/C mix, Cb and Cr) to be muted simultaneously, while the Cb and Cr channels also have their own separate mute features.

The Y signal can drive four loads, while each of the other signals will drive two loads.

Operating with a supply of between 4.5 and 5.5V, the BH7860FP delivers a maximum rated output of 3.0V peak-peak and a maximum rated power dissipation of 1.45W.

The driver's Y channel is configured for a diode clamp input, whereas the C, Cb and Cr signals use bias inputs.

The BH7860FP is supplied in an HSOP25 package measuring 13.6 x 7.8 x 1.9mm.

Operating temperature for the device is specified as -10 to +70C.
