The BA7615N will reduce the component count, design complexity and power consumption in VCRs, televisions, multimedia equipment and other applications that require video signal switching.

A highly integrated multimedia IC from Rohm Electronics will reduce the component count, design complexity and power consumption in VCRs, televisions, multimedia equipment and other applications that require video signal switching Rohm's BA7615N video signal switcher integrates a 6dB amplifier, a 75ohm driver and a mute function into a single SIP-10 package that measures just 25.2 x 10.5 x 2.8mm

The IC also features four sync-tip clamp inputs, one output and three control terminals.

Combining a wide operating supply voltage of between 4.5 and 13V with excellent frequency characteristics (typically 0dB at 10MHz), the new video switcher offers a typical maximum output level of 3.5V peak-peak.

The IC also offers low typical channel-to-channel crosstalk of just 65dB at a frequency of 4.43MHz.

Maximum power dissipation of the new device is rated at just 850mW, while the operating temperature range is from -25 to +75C.
