Rapid Electronics has celebrated its 25th anniversary with a gala dinner and Oscar-style ceremony, culminating in employees receiving awards for their excellent performance.

Catalogue marks silver jubilee
A new catalogue marks a quarter century of service to industry and further education.
The 36-year-old is Team Co-ordinator in the bulk stores, directing a team of six.
"I've been working at Rapid for five years, but never expected to get an award", said Redman.
"I feel I was simply doing my job to the best of my ability".
"I've always worked one hundred per cent and enjoy doing it".
Redman's award included a cheque for GBP 500 as well as a trophy and a bottle of champagne.
Product Manager in Rapid's procurement department, 25-year-old Corinna Decker won the annual Employee Award.
She was the choice of fellow employees at the Severalls Way-based company, who were impressed when she shouldered additional projects over and above her normal workload.
A surprised Decker commented afterwards: "I had taken on a few extra projects and there was also a lot of extra work involved in getting our catalogue together at a time when we were short-staffed".
"I was surprised and honoured to get the Employee Award".
"It's nice that people recognise the effort you have put in over the year".
"This is an annual award and I've seen other people get it in the past, but I never expected to get it myself".
