Four-volume catalogue is easier to navigate
RS has undertaken extensive customer research to relaunch its catalogue.
The HandyLink is a standard, off-the-shelf 0.80mm cable-to-board, board-to-board and cradle I/O system.
It is compliant with USB 2.0, supporting transmission speeds of up to 480Mbit/s.
The HandyLink compression-style highly durable contact design allows for 20,000 mating cycles, and its integrated latch design inside alignment posts provides protection to latch and offers secure mating retention.
The inserted moulded receptacles support IP54, and it has a low profile height of 3.50mm and compact width of 21.0mm, which reduce real-estate and minimise the size of the application.
Combinations of off-the-shelf configurations in docking and cable-to-board allow for full design flexibility, and 1.5A of continuous current rating allows for high-power throughput and hybrid I/O.
The HandyLink has an integrated solderable latch that eliminates the additional need for hold down features.
It is fully RoHS-compliant and is compatible with lead-free soldering processes up to 260C.
The Plateau HS Mezz comes with metal-plated plastic housing providing shielding for very low crosstalk and signal speeds in excess of 10Gbit/s.
Gold-plated plastic housing reduces the need for higher pin counts, and there are two points of contact on each signal interface for high reliability.
Stack heights range from 9 to 25mm, and the reflow capable maximum temperature is 260C.
Also in the range from Molex, the SlimStack offers system designers a wide range of flexibility to meet the tight packaging needs found in applications such as PDAs, cellular phones and other compact equipment.
With gold-plated contacts for high reliability connectivity, it has a high density capability.
It comes with 0.5mm plugs and receptacles, available in heights of 1.5 and 3.0mm, and in 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 80 ways.
The SlimStack has secure retention against shock and vibration.
According to Richard Eden, RS Market Development Manager for Electronics: "We aim to make sure that our customers have access to the most up-to-date products as quickly as possible".
"We are therefore delighted to be able to offer these latest connectors from Molex".
