High performance digital phosphor oscilloscopes offer bandwidths that range from 100MHz to 500MHz, and sample rates up to 5Gsample/s for accurate signal representation.

The new Tektronix's TDS3000C series of oscilloscopes is available now from RS Components This long awaited series of products now incorporates USB connectivity, replacing older models that used a floppy disk drive

These are high performance digital phosphor oscilloscopes (DPO) offering bandwidths that range from 100MHz to 500MHz, and sample rates up to 5Gsample/s for accurate signal representation.

These DPOs give a greater level of insight into complex signals and problem solving by combining the 3600Hz continuous waveform capture rate and real-time intensity grading.

This is time saving as the nature of faults and the history of a signal's activity are highlighted quickly, so that advanced triggers can be applied to isolate them.

Simple navigation ensures that time is spent effectively on the task in hand.

Unlike other comparable oscilloscopes, the history remains even after the acquisition is stopped.

One of the novel features is the ability to use digital real-time (DRT) sampling technology and sin(x)/x interpolation to allow accurate characterisation of a wide range of signal types simultaneously on all channels.

Unlike comparable oscilloscopes the TDS3000C has no change in sampling rate when additional channels are switched on, making it possible to capture high-frequency information such as glitches and edge anomalies.

"RS has a very long and close partnership with Tektronix", says Marcus Goad, Local Product Manager for Electronics at RS.

"We are proud of this relationship, which has enabled RS to bring this much sought after range of oscilloscopes to our customers as it is launched".
