GPS antenna slides into CompactFlash designs
In the last four months four companies have designed the Sarantel ultra-small GeoHelix GPS antenna into CompactFlash GPS modules in current production.
Personal tracking devices are designed to give travellers, executives, parents, and children peace of mind that they can get help when they really need it.
Thanks to Sarantel's antenna, the TR-102 can offer this peace of mind in a simple but powerful, user-friendly handset that offers: global access to communications services combined with pinpoint-accurate location information; compatibility with the international GSM standard, using GPRS to broadcast the user's location to emergency call centres; a familiar interface that works just like a mobile phone, with three user-defined preset phone numbers; and a rugged and compact design that fits comfortably in the palm of the hand.
The TR-102 is the latest in a series of high-performance handheld GPS products resulting from Globalsat's successful partnership with Sarantel and its GeoHelix GPS antenna.

GPS antenna shrinks to surface mounting
Sarantel has developed a surface-mount version of its active GeoHelix miniature GPS antenna.
Sarantel's GeoHelix antenna is uniquely characterised by an omnidirectional reception pattern and superior immunity to detuning, even when the user holds the antenna close to his or her body - a scenario that causes other antennas to fail.
Unlike a conventional patch antenna, Sarantel's antenna requires no hinging or extra actions by the user in order to make the GPS function.
All this means that the TR-102 is ready to go, when the user needs it most - in an emergency.
Prince Chang, President and CEO of Globalsat said: "Once again we chose the GeoHelix GPS antenna because it is ideal for our high performance handheld consumer products".

"We're delighted that Globalsat has chosen us again to bring to market another high performance GPS product".
