The BA 5590 battery is the US military's most widely used portable power source, powering many types of communications devices throughout the armed services.

The Saft Valdese facility was the largest supplier of portable lithium batteries during the Gulf war, is again the main source of high performance lithium batteries for US soldiers during the current action in Iraq.

This battery has been the main chemistry for the US military in communications applications over the past 10-15 years.
It is the only lithium technology currently available that has a proven successful record in combat situations and is the most cost effective solution available for the US Military.
Saft also produces over 100 different high performance lithium designed batteries for other military and commercial markets and applications.
Saft's Valdese North Carolina site has been producing lithium batteries for over 20 years and has the most experience and knowledge in both lithium and battery technology for portable applications.
