Serial device drivers provide easy Ethernet
Sealevel Systems reckons its Sealink family of serial device drivers is the easiest way to connect serial devices directly to an Ethernet network.
The low-profile form factor is especially useful in applications where space is at a premium such as 1U servers, thin clients and net appliance applications.
Designed using the XR16C850 UART, the Ultra Comm+2.LPCI supports standard PC datarates and boasts a top speed of 921.6Kbit/s.
The board provides a 128byte FIFO, 16 times larger than boards designed with 16C550 parts, to allow error free operation even in high-speed applications The multi-interface capabilities afford the user maximum flexibility.

Adapter squeezes 16 serial ports onto PCIbus
The COMM+16.PCI is a 16-port PCIbus serial I/O adapter that offers the highest serial port count available in a PCI format.
Choose RS422 mode for long distance communication up to 4000ft where noise immunity and high data integrity are essential.
Or, select RS485 and capture data from multiple peripherals in a RS485 multidrop network.
Onboard auto-enable hardware automatically handles the RS485 driver enable, allowing the RS485 ports to be treated as standard serial ports by the operating system.
This allows the standard COM driver to be used for RS485 communications.
At 2.536in tall, the Ultra Comm+2.LPCI meets the requirements for the MD1 low-profile specification as defined by PCISIG in PCI 2.2 "low profile addendum".
Sealevel Systems ships each adapter with both the low-profile bracket and the standard size PCI slot bracket, offering the customer compatibility with either size PCI slot.
The Ultra Comm+2.LPCI also features a universal bus as required by PCISIG specification 2.3, allowing compatibility with today's new 3.3V computers as well as older 5V systems.
Ultra Comm+2.LPCI ships with Sealevel Systems' SeaCOM suite of Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP drivers.
Sealevel also Includes WinSSD, a full-featured application providing powerful testing and diagnostic capabilities.
Use WinSSD for BERT (bit error rate testing), throughput monitoring, loopback tests, and transmit test pattern messages.
In addition to Windows drivers and utilities, SeaCOM includes drivers, utilities, application notes, and technical details to simplify installations in DOS, QNX, and Linux.
The Ultra Comm+2.LPCI, product number 7205, is available immediately from stock.
Price is $209.00 in low volume quantities, and like all Sealevel products the Ultra Comm+2.LPCI is backed by a lifetime warranty.
