Adapter adds serial comms options to PC/104
Sealevel Systems has expanded its PC/104 product line with the SIO.104+2, a dual-port RS232/422/485 interface adapter.
Serial adapter fits both PCI slots
The latest addition to the popular PCI product line from Sealevel Systems is the Ultra Comm+2.LPCI, a dual-port low-profile PCIbus serial I/O adapter.
The SIO-104+16.485 conforms strictly to PC/104 specifications and includes UARTs with 128byte FIFOs for fast, error-free communication up to 921.6Kbit/s.
To simplify RS485 communication, the board automatically handles the RS485 driver enable, allowing the RS485 ports to be viewed by the operating system as standard COM ports.
Interface is accomplished via a 40-pin header connector.
Breakout cables and other helpful accessories are available to facilitate rapid implementation.
SIO-104+16.485 boards ship with Sealevel Systems' SeaCOM suite of Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP drivers, and a Windows CE.NET 5.0 driver is also available.
WinSSD, a full-featured application providing powerful testing and diagnostic capabilities, is included to assist in development and troubleshooting.
Use WinSSD for BERT (bit error rate testing), throughput monitoring, loopback tests, and transmitting test pattern messages.
In addition to Windows drivers and utilities, SeaCOM includes application notes and technical details to simplify installations in LINUX, QNX, and DOS.
SIO-104+16.485 modules, part number 3562, are $349 each in low volume quantities.
Standard operating temperature range is 0-70C, with an extended temperature range model offering -40 to +85C.
Availability is from stock, and like all Sealevel I/O products, SIO-104+16.485 boards are backed by a lifetime warranty.
