Application framework fits LoCosto-based handsets
Sasken's Aria application framework has been successfully integrated on to Texas Instruments' LoCosto single-chip value platform.
Sasken offers wireless device developers Kaleidoscope - a range of multimedia applications, multimedia framework and media codec engines.
Multimedia solutions provided by Sasken include the multimedia player with streaming support, 3G 324 M video phone terminal and MMS client.
The latter conforms to 3GPP release 4 and sustains both mandatory and optional media formats.
Sasken provides a wide range of video, audio and speech codecs that are readily available on the OMAP and ARM platforms, and are all eXpress DSP compliant for OMAP.
As a TI certified Independent OMAP Technology centre, Sasken is working on developing and optimising multimedia components on OMAP.
Sasken licences its multimedia codecs to terminal equipment manufacturers around the world and provides integration and customisation to help optimise multimedia solutions including standards-based audio, image and video codes such as MPEG 4.
Sasken is also a Symbian Platinum partner, which enables Sasken to work closely with leading device manufacturers who are Symbian licensees.
Sasken will demonstrate its mobile video solution, MMS client and UMTS protocol stack for next generation wireless terminal devices at UMTS-MI Congress, Paris, on 2nd-4th October 2002.
Colin Aitken, Director and General Manager at Sasken Europe, will make a seminar presentation at the event, in the 3G terminal section on protocol stacks for the next generation wireless terminals.
