The Sentiris S4110-CD00-AR is a COTS graphics subsystem offering high performance and excellent image quality in a conduction cooled PMC format.

The Sentiris S4110-CD00-AR is a COTS graphics subsystem offering high performance and excellent image quality in a conduction cooled PMC format SBS Technologies developed the new Sentiris derivative products under an exclusive licensing agreement with Quantum 3D

"Responding to market demand for a high-performance, high-resolution COTS graphics board for Mil-Std and extended environment deployments, SBS re-engineered the air-cooled Sentiris product for conduction cooling.

The Sentiris offers the same high-level of performance, low-power consumption and feature set as the air-cooled model", said Clarence Peckham, President of SBS Technologies' Commercial and Government Group.

"We are very pleased to have collaborated with Quantum3D on the conduction cooled and industrial grade variant of the product and are looking forward to a favourable response from the market for these new offerings".

"With its leadership position in conduction cooled technologies for the extended environment marketplace and history of providing compatible products for the COTS world, SBS was the ideal partner for the ruggedized versions of the Sentiris PMC", said Ross Q Smith, cofounder and Executive Vice President of Marketing and Business Development for Quantum3D.

"And with the wins that SBS already has around Sentiris in both legacy environments and in new deployments we're finding that our choice of SBS as our partner for the conductive cooled Sentiris has proven to be a great solution for our mutual customers".

Based on Nvida's Quadro4 embedded graphics processing unit (GPU), Sentiris is an IEEE P1383.1-compliant PMC for applications such as avionics, vetronics and embedded training.

Sentiris delivers the high performance, low power consumption, heat dissipation, superior image quality, advanced video I/O capability and unique integration features that are essential for mission critical embedded computing applications while delivering cost savings, technology insertion and open architecture benefits that derive from true COTS technologies.

The S4110-CD00-AR is built with thermal layers, all I/O out PMC4, no front panel or side connections, acrylic conformal coating and supports operating temperatures from -40 to +85C.

Featuring a 128bit interface to 64Mbyte of DDR memory, the Sentiris PMC hosts a dedicated graphics bandwidth of 7.0Gbyte/s, enabling delivery of up to 400Mpixel/s (trilinear) pixel fill rate, 3.5M independent, texture mapped triangles per second (trilinear) and 2.6M 3D anti-aliased lines per second when deployed with single-board computers that support 66MHz PCIbus interconnects.

The PMC provides 16 or 32bit RGBA and Z with both Accuview full scene and Quadro4 drawing primitive anti-aliasing, combined with both trilinear and anisotropic, texture filtering.

The Sentiris board also supports key workstation-level features such as overlay planes and two-sided lighting that facilitates bringing new capabilities from the lab to the field.

The S41100-CD00-AR supports Windows 2000, Linux and VxWorks operating systems.

Windows drivers are provided.

The S4110-CD00-AR will be available March 2003.
