SBS Technologies designs and manufactures embedded computing solutions used in a number of mission critical ground, air, sea, and space applications.
These are at the heart of emerging military applications, delivering high speed, cost-effective and future-proofed systems.
Based on the PowerPC processor, the VG5 saves space as well as improving performance by incorporating two computing cores (processor, chipset and memory) onto a single board.
These enable multiple applications to run concurrently, with no loss of performance.
Its unique design features options for ruggedisation to cope with harsh environments impacted by temperature, shock, vibration, humidity, dust, salt or mist.
Options for ruggedisation include extended temperature range between -40 and +85C, conduction cooling, conformal coating, stiffener bars and wedge locks.
Additionally, SBS will be demonstrating its Sentiris graphics card.
Sentiris provides high performance processing and excellent image quality, enabling military applications that bring together live camera data and computer generated images.
This allows better access to and display of information and therefore faster reaction times.
