The AMC-cPCI-3000 is an advanced 3U CompactPCI ruggedised computing platform for flight management/mission computing, display processing and information management applications.

The AMC-cPCI-3000 is an advanced 3U CompactPCI ruggedised computing platform for flight management/mission computing, display processing and information management applications This flight-qualified COTS computer system is suited for a variety of avionics, vetronics, navtronics and space programmes where time to market is critical

"The AMC-cPCI-3000 computer is a leading-edge, flexible and rugged processing computing platform that can be readily configured to meet the general purpose processing, I/O, video, and graphics processing needs of a variety of military applications.

It has been tested, qualified and flown in some of the most extreme environmental conditions.

Because of its reconfigurability and robust design, the AMC-cPCI-3000 computer offers customers a reliable, cost-effective, high performance solution that meets mission critical reliability requirements", said Frank Willis, Vice President of Government Business Development for SBS.

This system was built on open systems architecture to allow for technology insertion.

It leverages SBS' COTS products, conforms to open standards, and utilises RTOS operating system software.

The AMC-cPCI-3000 comes configured with an off-the-shelf power supply, a ruggedised 3U cPCI PowerPC-based RL4 or CM4 single board computer (SBC) running up to 500MHz, and includes Fast Ethernet, four serial ports, parallel I/O, built-in test (BIT), and VxWorks or Green Hills Integrity operating systems support.

The standard configuration also includes a dual-channel 1553 PMC, high-speed serial card, digital I/O module with eight channels of optocoupled discrete inputs, eight channels of optocoupled discrete outputs, and 16 general-purpose bidirectional discrete channels that can be programmed individually as outputs or inputs.

For added reliability, SBS uses a CompactPCI transition module instead of a traditional wiring harness between the front panel and the backplane.

At 3.5 x 10.75 x 12.8in, the AMC-cPCI is well suited for integration into tight spaces that typify rugged environments.

External fins provide additional heat sinking capability, allowing the system to take full advantage of surrounding airflow.

SBS can customise the design of the AMC-cPCI-3000 to meet specific needs and price ranges.

The AMC-cPCI-3000 is available now.
