The PMC-ISCSI-ST is a single-width 32/64bit, PCI/PCI-X Mezzanine Card (PMC) for enterprise level storage and networking systems.

The PMC-ISCSI-ST is a single-width 32/64bit, PCI/PCI-X Mezzanine Card (PMC) for enterprise level storage and networking systems The PMC-ISCSI-ST is designed for applications requiring a high-performance low CPU use SCSI peer-to-peer solution as well as NAS (network-attached storage) and Ethernet networking applications

"Our PMC-ISCSI-ST lets customers conveniently use one PMC as both an iSCSI controller and a Gigabit Ethernet controller", said Bill Molyneux, General Manager of General Purpose I/O and Commercial Systems for SBS.

"In addition, our new card employs a hardware TCP/IP offload engine (TOE) and has lower CPU utilisation, enhancing system performance", continued Molyneux.

The PMC-ISCSI-ST's QLogic ISP4010 iSCSi controller includes both the PCI/PCI-X host bus and the 1000Base-T Ethernet interface.

This mezzanine card features two embedded 32bit RISC processors for protocol stack processing support while TCP/IP and iSCSI offload capability is fully implemented in hardware.

This card can function as both an iSCSI and an Ethernet controller at the same time.

For Ethernet connectivity either the TCP/IP offload interface, requiring custom API available from SBS, or standard Ethernet interface can be used.

Use of the TCP/IP offload engine (TOE) dramatically reduces CPU use.

This dual-function versatility is aided by a front panel RJ45 connector and two front panel LED indicators for link and transmit activity.
