The video capture and compression TS-Video PMC is the newest member of the TS Series high-performance FPGA computing line from SBS Technologies "The TS Series TS-Video PMC is ideally suited for data recording, video surveillance and other camera-based applications"

"Using an FPGA-based processor provides the flexibility of a software application with the performance of a hardware implementation", said Ron Strauss, General Manager of SBS Canada.

The TS-Video PMC delivers a dual input RS170 video capture and compression solution for military and high-performance commercial applications.

Using a powerful Altera Stratix EP1S30 FPGA computing processor and integrated MPEG-4 encoder, this integrated solution is well-suited for video data recording, surveillance, UAV operations, reconnaissance, and other camera-based applications where video data is transferred over a network.

When used an SBS advanced vehicle computer, the TS-Video PMC offers a complete flight-ready solution.

Because it is FPGA-based, the TS-Video PMC offers a high degree of flexibility for additional functionality.

Two RS170 input video streams allow for overlay or mixing of multiple video images and the single RS170 output channel permits data playback, which is useful for image simulation.

A TS-LVDS micro mezzanine companion module is also available for added capability.

The TS-Video-PMC (TS-VID-RS01) is priced at $4500 and is available now.
