Small format cPCI SBC handles harsh
environments
A new 3U CompactPCI SBC is ideal for any high-performance application that must work in an extended temperature range of -40 to +85C.
Available in convection- or conduction-cooled versions, the 3U CompactPCI CV1 high-performance SBC supports core processor speeds up to 1GHz and bus clock rates of 167MHz The CV1 is ideal for military applications, such as unmanned aerial vehicles deployed in harsh environments, as well as high-performance applications that must work in an extended temperature range of -40 to +85C

CompactPCI SBC takes the rough with the smooth
The CM4 3U is a CompactPCI single board computer for new and legacy commercial and government COTS applications operating in harsh environments.
The CV1 incorporates sophisticated power management technology, and gives engineers ample I/O to work with by providing two gigabit Ethernet ports, two 32bit 33/66MHz PCIbus interfaces, RS232 and RS422/485 serial I/O ports and ten general-purpose I/O lines to the backplane with separate interrupts and interrupt masking capability.
The CV1 implements a PCI/cPCI bridge that handles 32bit data transfers to and from the CompactPCI backplane, which allows the CV1 to operate as a system controller or peripheral processor card through its dual mode capability and eliminates the need to stock multiple configurations.
"The small footprint of the 3U CV1 PowerPC single board computer solves the challenge of fitting a rugged high-performance embedded computer into the limited space available in many military and commercial applications".
"The board's convenient PMC site adds design flexibility that lets system designers easily add virtually limitless connectivity options".
"Because it's available off the shelf, the CV1 lets our customers take their applications to market quickly with reduced testing time and expense", said Wayne McGee, General Manager of the SBS Technologies Single Board Computer Design Centre in North Carolina.
The CV1 supports the Linux, VxWorks and other operating systems as well as the SBS Ready Driver interoperability programme.
