In presenting the award, Michael Lowe, Managing Director of Schaffner EMC commented: "This has been our closest decision to date.
All our distributors have contributed to making 2000 a record year for component sales.
And while other distributors have made notable gains, it is Hawnt's all-round performance that clinched the award".
Schaffner's Distribution Manager Denis Henderson added: "As ever, we have based the award on a number of criteria ranging from overall sales and year-on-year growth to design-in work and marketing initiatives.
And it is in the less quantifiable areas that Hawnt has been particularly successful, laying the foundations for sustained future growth".
Accepting the award for Hawnt Electronics, Sales and Marketing Director Andy Barter was enthusiastic about this recognition of the company's success: "It is always a pleasure to receive an award from a franchise partner, especially one as eminent as Schaffner, in the EMC components market.
Intrinsic to this is that it acknowledges the high standard of service that we aim to provide to our customers together with our commitment to developing future business through promoting EMC solutions".
