EMC test software checks EUT functionality
A new facility for monitoring equipment under test (EUT) during RF immunity testing is now available for Schaffner's powerful test management software EMC Compliance 3.
Multistage filter gives broadband performance
The latest addition to the Schaffner FN2000 series of powerline filters is a low-cost solution to a variety of EMC compliance problems ranging from motor drives to precision instrumentation.
In addition to a comprehensive library of standard test programs and subroutines, EMC Compliance 3 allows engineers to customise any aspect of the test program.
Routines can be edited, created and combined in functional blocks - to control a mast or take a measurement from a receiver for example - using a simple, graphical flowchart approach.
Complex test programmes can be constructed easily and quickly in this way, for highly efficient production of new test procedures.

Baxall turns to Schaffner to equip EMC test lab
Even with the proliferation of highly professional EMC test laboratories in the UK, many companies have found it necessary to set up their own in-house test facilities.
Equally applicable to automotive, military, telecomms and commercial product development, EMC Compliance 3, can be adapted to the requirements of any EMC test facility.
Its inherent flexibility means that any changes in standards or procedures can be easily incorporated into the test programme.
For the first time, test engineers are completely free to select and adapt their own preferred test methods without constraint from the control software they are using.
EMC Compliance 3 provides direct control of EMC test equipment such as masts, turntables, GTEM cells, stir or tuned-mode paddle controllers and absorption clamps.
In addition, it can be used as an interface to other equipment being used to monitor or control the EUT.
A multilingual, multi-user package, EMC Compliance 3 comes with user-selectable interfaces in English, French, German, Mandarin and Japanese.
Each individual user can customise their own interface, from minor edits of on-screen text to full translation into another language.
This will prove particularly useful on larger sites in regions where engineers and test operators may be of more than one nationality.
Suitable for use on a single PC or over a network, the multi-user system is controlled and maintained by a system administrator who can assign access rights at various levels, for creation, editing or execution-only of tests.
Results are automatically saved to the file designated by the system administrator, to protect against deliberate or accidental damage to data.
EMC Compliance 3 comes complete with a comprehensive reporting function for efficient production of in-house, engineering, and customer compliance reports.
The software is suitable for use with Windows 2000/Windows 98 and Windows NT. Request a free brochure from Schaffner ...
