Harmonic filters raise power system efficiency
Load-applied passive harmonic filters represent the ideal solution for three-phase power electronics with six-pulse rectifier front ends.
Recent revisions to the standards IEC 61000-3-2 and IEC 61000-3-3 include a reclassification of test equipment which not all manufacturers have the technical resources to meet.
Schaffner is investing in development to meet the revised standard and is expected to launch a new software solution shortly.
This appointment backs up that development with specialist technical support for the market.
Muhamad Nazarudin comes to Schaffner from Voltech Instruments, where he was Applications Engineer for two years, providing technical support to customers in Europe and Asia.
He has a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Ngee Ann Polytechnic of Singapore.
Responsibilities of the new post include product definition and pricing for the Schaffner Profline 2100 systems, and providing technical support to the Schaffner sales organisation worldwide.
"The harmonics and flicker standards are open to interpretation, and there are conflicting opinions in the industry", explains Nazarudin.
"It is part of my role to help our customers to understand what is required of them, and of the test systems they are using". Request free introductory details about products from Schaffner ...
