Harmonic filters raise power system efficiency
Load-applied passive harmonic filters represent the ideal solution for three-phase power electronics with six-pulse rectifier front ends.
Both vertical (EV) and horizontal (EH) configurations are available with current ratings up to 5A.
Typical dimensions are 32 x 22 x 35mm for a 5A-rated EV28 vertical device or 29.5 x 30 x 22.5mm for a similarly rated horizontal-mounting EH28 choke.
Thanks to the use of a new core material and an improved glue process, all devices now feature lower saturating resistances and higher temperature specifications.
Rated performance is now specified at +50C, and the full operating temperature range now spans from -25 to +100C.
All devices feature broadband attenuation characteristics to provide a stable frequency response, thereby avoiding unwanted resonant frequencies.
The chokes also have a low leakage flux, and are constructed from UL-rated materials, making them suitable for both IEC950 and medical applications. Request a free brochure from Schaffner ...
