Software verifies EMC test chamber uniformity
New software from Schaffner will help EMC test laboratories meet the test chamber field uniformity tests specified by IEC61000-4-3.
EMC software controls both emissions and immunity
EMC Compliance 3 is a highly flexible, fully configurable Windows-based test management tool for creation, execution, data acquisition and reporting of all EMC emissions and immunity tests.
The new option operates as a Visual Basic companion program to EMC Compliance 3.
It is used to invoke a series of user-defined actions in the EUT, at user-defined points in the test routine.
These actions may be anything from a simple check (eg that an LED is lit) to more complex operations (eg open a document, print a page, close document), before a go/no-go result is returned to the main programme.
This advanced level of interaction - in which the test programme demands some activity from the EUT before a response is made - provides more thorough testing and more detailed failure data.
It also ensures that test resources are not wasted on the testing of a product that has already failed.
The pass or fail message may be returned automatically, or by the operator, allowing visual checks to be made if necessary.
Test engineers familiar with visual basic will find the new facility easy and quick to use.
Objects are simply combined into a graphical user interface flow chart to create the required routine.
A library of editable, standard routines is provided to speed the process even further.
DDE and OLE functionality allows the engineer to include links to other software packages.
The new facility is available to new and existing EMC Compliance 3 users. Request a free brochure from Schaffner ...
