RF source covers both EMC test and
calibration

New from Schaffner is a high-stability RF-emission source for the evaluation of parameters of open area test sites, anechoic chambers and other test sites in the frequency range 1 to 18GHz.

New from Schaffner is a high-stability RF-emission source for the evaluation of parameters of open area test sites, anechoic chambers and other test sites in the frequency range 1 to 18GHz Highly flexible in application, the VSQ 2000 can be used for a wide range of EMC measurements

It allows reference measurements between open-area test sites and alternative measurement equipment such as GTEM cells and anechoic chambers.

It is equally suitable for calibration, or for quick validation of antennas and test sites.

The system has a comb generator, RSG 2000, and a broadband antenna.

The comb generator is fed by a highly stable temperature-controlled quartz oscillator (TCXO) and provides a spectrum with 100MHz band resolution.

The source is supplied by four replaceable NiMH-batteries (typeC) or an external power supply.

The state of charge of the batteries is permanently controlled; if they are too low the generator will turn off automatically, ensuring reliable and consistent performance.

In combination with an antenna, the generator provides a precise emission source.

A broadband horn antenna (1 to 18GHz) and a tripod are supplied as standard.

As an option, a log periodic broadband antenna (1 to 18GHz),or antennas for a defined frequency range, are available.

Attenuation measurement of screens, and the determination of the attenuation of absorbers, are further examples of the equipment's broad application portfolio.

Additionally, all components of the emission source are also designed for individual use.

The comb generator may be used to extend receivers without a crystal oscillator.

Thanks to its high stability, it is also suitable for calibration of receivers, fast evaluation of accuracy, and other parameters, of a test system.

Furthermore, the loss of coaxial cables or attenuators can be easily determined without the use of a network analyser.

The antenna can also be used for multiple EMC measurements, or for emission and immunity tests.

The standard antenna is designed for operation up to300W in the transmitting mode. Request a free brochure from Schaffner ...
