EMC amplifiers provide high-quality signals
Schaffner has expanded its EMC amplifier range with three Class-A units, to complete its range for the EMC test signal requirements of IEC 6100-4-3 and other common standards, covering 10kHz to 3GHz.
Schaffner has expanded its EMC amplifier range with three new Class-A units, to complete its range for the EMC test signal requirements of IEC 6100-4-3 and other common standards, covering 10kHz to 3GHz.
Given that amplifiers represent one the most expensive parts of any RF system, the company has engineered designs which exceed current compliance requirements significantly, ensuring the long-term provision of clean high-quality test signals.
The new amplifiers extend the company's range in terms of both power and frequency.
New combiner technology used in the higher power amplifiers, results in exceptionally low harmonic performance, at 30dB or better.
(IEC standards require only 20dB.) Traditional amplifier and antenna mismatch problems are minimised by the reliable new systems, which also incorporates full open-circuit and short-circuit protection.
As a leading global supplier of EMC test systems and equipment, the company has developed the new units to cater for specific high-reliability applications.
The CBA 9434 covers the frequency range 80MHz to 1GHz.
Although this unit is notionally specified at 400W, it is capable of delivering useable power up to 800W, where it is needed to match antenna requirements for radiated immunity testing.
A further new unit, the CBA 9428 employs GaAs FET technology, offering highly stable and reliable test signal sources in the frequency range 1 to 3GHz.
Units are available with 20 or 60W linear power rating options.
Specialised EMC amplifiers in the company's range now cater for frequencies from 0.1MHz to 3GHz, in 19in rack-mounting enclosures to suit varying needs.
