Multistage filter gives broadband performance
The latest addition to the Schaffner FN2000 series of powerline filters is a low-cost solution to a variety of EMC compliance problems ranging from motor drives to precision instrumentation.
Cash was raised by individual sponsorship and donations from Schaffner suppliers and distributors.
The total raised was GBP 1500, which has been donated to Frimley Park Hospital Cancer Trust in Hampshire.
It is the final amount required to start a pilot project offering in-patients complementary therapies alongside conventional cancer treatment.
Research Nurse Julie Love will be running the project for an initial six months, after which the results will be analysed.
The first treatment to be offered will be reflexology.
If the results are as good as hoped, further funding will be sought and the treatment be offered to all in-patients being treated for cancer.
It is hoped that complementary therapies which have an holistic effect will work well alongside clinical treatments which are targeted specifically at the medical condition.
"We are very pleased to be able to help get this project off the ground", comments Andy Kotas, Marketing Manager of Schaffner, "and give patients at Frimley Park Hospital the opportunity to receive treatment that is available elsewhere".
