Powerstax has become the latest UK customer to buy an Intepro 9000 power supply ATE system from Schaffner.

The market leading Intepro 9000 system provides fast and effective testing for power supplies and convertors and is a modular system for ease of configuration and expansion.

Comprehensive test routines and reports are simple to implement using Schaffner's PowerStar5 software.

Custom fixtures, jigs and handling systems may be provided and after sales service is available from a worldwide support network.

Farnborough based Powerstax (formerly Advanced Power Conversion) is one of the UK's foremost designers and manufacturers of high efficiency, high power DC/DC convertors and systems.

The new ATE system was commissioned to support the growing range of products being produced by Powerstax and the wide range of parameters now required to be tested.

The speed, flexibility and ease of use of the new ATE makes it an essential part of Powerstax's integrated manufacturing and test process by providing design characterisation, production test, safety test, and environmental test screening.

The ease with which the Intepro 9000 ATE may be programmed and configured is a major benefit for manufacturers with a wide product range and variable production volumes.

Employing a custom test jig and the latest PowerStar5 test software the ATE delivered to Powerstax interfaces to digitally controlled power supplies and electronic loads that allow comprehensive and versatile test sequences to be carried out across the whole of their 500W DC/DC convertor range.

Andrew Kotas, Marketing Manager for Schaffner comments: "The modular approach we have employed with our Intepro 9000 power supply ATE allows our customers to buy only what they need and add to the system as their product testing requirements change and grow".

Tim Worley, Managing Director of Powerstax adds: "Both the R and D and production functions based here in Farnborough will gain enormous benefit from the installation of further ATE capacity".

"It will help shorten the development cycle by providing faster design characterisation and testing of the many new standard and custom DC/DC convertor modules, we are developing".

"It also ensures repeatability and enhances productivity to deliver our goal of 100% customer satisfaction".
