Schaffner Test Systems Division is a technology leader in EMC instrumentation, cable test, electro-emulation, power supply ATE and RF test systems.
However, it is not an international leader in the test and measurement business and does not have the potential to achieve a market leading position with its current level of internal resources.
Schaffner believes that in today's global business environment, only those companies with a dominant position in the markets in which they compete can be successful over the long term.

Filtered inlets raise attenuation levels
Additional ranges of IEC inlet filter modules are developed for applications requiring high attenuation performance or additional attenuation on the earth line.
Therefore companies must focus consistently on those areas of their business where such dominance can be achieved.
The Schaffner group has recently evaluated its strategic position and has decided to concentrate its resources on its already highly successful EMC components business to further enhance its leading position.
In order to do this it will sell its Test Systems Division.
This will result in the eventual integration of these businesses into outside organisations with the required synergy and resources to further develop the technical strengths of Schaffner test equipment and ATE for the global market.
Paul Dixon, Managing Director of Schaffner, comments: "70% of our business is component sales and we need to continue to invest in new products and processes to maintain our market leading position for the long term".
"We have had a very positive response to this decision from our major test equipment customers and while we find the best partners for our Test Systems Division to join it will be 'business as usual' for sales, support and service".
The proceeds of the sale will be invested in further product development.
Schaffner intends to continue to offer its customers products that meet the needs of changing and emerging EMC standards and manufacturing processes and materials such as RoHS fully and in good time.
During the transition phase Schaffner's staff will continue to offer their usual high level of service and support and will ensure that all products and services continue to create the value expected by their customers. Request free introductory details about products from Schaffner ...
