Thompson tackles EMC test systems

Schaffner has recruited Tim Thompson as an EMC Systems Engineer to work closely with customers to meet their needs for EMC test systems.

Schaffner has recruited Tim Thompson as an EMC Systems Engineer to work closely with customers to meet their needs for EMC test systems taking due regard of any specific system requirements or limitations Thompson will operate worldwide to liaise with customers throughout the system design process, oversee installation and provide full training to end users

Thompson is a graduate from UMIST and spent 18 years working as a RF Systems Engineer designing, down to component level, demanding military radio systems for both fixed and mobile applications.

Further relevant experience has been gained from working on vehicle licence plate recognition systems, testing industrial computers and EMC compliance testing at a major national test house.

In addition to RF design and test Thompson has a broad knowledge of IT systems management and integrating complex systems made up of components from multiple sources.

Fully conversant with all aspects of on-site commissioning Thompson will also ensure full technical documentation will be provided will all systems contracts.
