High rating for surface-mount fuselink

A Schurter product story

The latest addition to Schurter's range of RoHS compliant products is the UMT 250 fuselink.

The latest addition to Schurter's range of RoHS compliant products is the UMT 250 fuselink.

The UMT 250 offers the highest protection currently available in primary protection SM fuses, touting a breaking capacity rating of 200A at 250V AC or 100A at 125V DC over a current range from 315mA to 4A.

Measuring a small 10 x 3 x 3mm, the UMT 250 makes significant advances in the miniaturisation of primary protection and process compatibility.

It is an ideal replacement for the popular axial or radial lead through-hole fuses, such as the popular Mircrofuse.

Using SM components, instead of through-hole components, results in lower production costs while providing higher reliability and quality of connection to the printed circuit board.

The UMT 250 markings are clear, and visual identification of rated currents is easy for pick and place.

The UMT 250 fuse meets IEC60127-4 and its equivalent UL248-14.

Its time-lag characteristics are especially suited for applications with inrush currents that require sustained fuse performance.

The UMT 250 is ideal for power supplies and battery chargers, AC/DC convertors, small IT equipment, healthcare devices, chargers for mobile phones, games and other home appliances such as electric shavers.

The UMT is available in 100 piece quantities or 2000 piece reels for automated assembly.

Lead-time is 5-10 weeks, depending on current rating.
