Inverter promises pure sinewave output

A Schaefer product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Jan 24, 2006

Unlike modified or quasi-sinewave inverters, AEP-700 pure-sine inverters deliver "clean" output power for powering sensitive loads and for improving AC equipment performance.

New from Schaefer is the AEP-700 Series of 700W low-cost high-efficiency pure-sinewave inverters.

Unlike modified or quasi-sinewave inverters, AEP-700 pure-sine inverters deliver "clean" output power for powering sensitive loads and for improving AC equipment performance.

The AEP-700 Series is available in three standard input configurations of 12 and 24V DC and the less frequently found 48V DC.

Outputs are available in 115 or 230V AC versions, which are regulated to +4/-10% or better.

All models in the AEP-700 Series feature advanced microprocessor design, comprehensive protection circuitry and a digital display to monitor/indicate low input voltage, short circuit, input overvoltage, overtemperature, overload and low battery.

The display also indicates voltage, current, power and temperature.

An RS232C interface is standard and a remote control port with wireless remote is optional.

Efficiency runs about 88-94%, depending on model selected.

Operating temperature is 0 to 50C.

EMI is minimised for reduced impact on other onboard equipment.

The design is rugged enough for the most extreme environments and perfect for industrial, military, computer, recreational, shore and general backup power applications.

The compact module size of 269 x 184 x 76mm accommodates low-profile, space saving requirements.

A simple mounting scheme and high reliability lend to the low cost of ownership.

Modifications to standard modules are available on request.

In addition, Schaefer can design and manufacture fully custom solutions.

Series pricing is from $251.00 each at 100 pieces, with significant OEM quantity discounts.

Delivery is stock to 8 weeks ARO.
