They can be operated in both n+1 redundant and Hot Swap systems and are the ideal solution for applications with the very highest demands for availability, as may be found in telecommunications, automation and control applications.
Measuring 8HP, the power supplies feature either a wide ranging 90V to 264V AC input, or a 48V DC input.
Equipped with four outputs they are able to provide 3.3V, 5V and +/-12V levels according to the CompactPCI specification.

Additionally, the power supplies can be configured to deliver output voltages of 2.2V, 15V and 24V.
In redundancy mode 3.3V, 5V and +12V levels are controlled by Current Share Bus (CSB).
DIN M24/8 or Positronic P47 connectors support AC or DC input, and DC output.
Regulation and ripple correspond to the CPCI specification requirements.
To automatically compensate for any voltage drops caused by the connections and wiring between power supply and load, remote sense is possible on the 3.3V and 5V outputs.
PFC (Power Factor Correction) of the AC input gives a power factor of 0.99%.
Transient protection is according to IEC61000-4-5 Level 3, IEC61000-4-4 Level 2, and IEEE587 and all four outputs have over voltage protection.
Calculated MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure) is 250,000 hours at 25C.
Should the operating temperature exceed 50C or a failure occur, then the power supplies warn users via TTL signals (DEG#, FAL#).
In addition, a bicolour LED switching from green to amber gives a visual indication of failure.
As required by the CompactPCI specification, the modules provide inhibit (INH#) and enable (EN#) control inputs.
Schroff's power supplies meet a wide range of EMC and safety standards including VDE/CISPR22 Class B, EN6100-3-2, UL1950, CSA950, TUV/VDE EN 60950 and IEC60068.
CPCI combines the advantages of proven PC technology with the robustness of 19" systems.
The PCI bus, as used in many offices today, has been coupled with a rugged subrack to produce a low cost, reliable alternative to VME.
Basing CPCI on standard PC technology ensures hardware and software is both well supported competitively priced.
Over the next few years, it is predicted that CPCI will become the de-facto microcomputer packaging systems standard in telecommunications, network and data systems, automation and control, traffic and medical systems around the world.
