The 2U case is particularly suitable for customer-specific assemblies, with horizontal boards or chassis plates Further specific case sizes can be achieved easily with specific case widths, created by using the length of the horizontal rails.
For the height, the side panels are adjusted accordingly and the standard front trims are used in line with the requested height of the case.
The depth of the case can also be varied through subsequent side panels.
Despite these dimensional alterations, all assembly parts and accessories can be used in the same way as before.
The EMC shielded, stable metal case fulfils the demand of today's 19in standard and is able to accept extractor handles for high insertion and extraction forces for CompactPCI and VME64x applications.
Thanks to the symmetrical arrangement, users can install plug-in units from the front, as well as from the rear without the need to remove the top cover.
Table top units, 19in plug-in units and tower versions can be accomplished with the same basic case.
Two options are available: Ratiopac Pro - a space-optimised version; and Ratiopac Pro-air - a version that is 1U higher.
With this version, 0.5U is reserved both above and below the installed plug-in units for the cold air intake and warm air expulsion.
