All 60 exhibitor places have now been filled at this year's Electronics Innovation Showcase.

The opportunity to discover unexpected synergies and forge crucial commercial links with 60 exhibiting companies from the micro, opto and electronics sector will be provided at this year's Electronics Innovation Showcase, taking place at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange on 22nd March 2006.

Following the success of last year's inaugural event, all 60 exhibitor places have now been filled.

Delegates will have the opportunity to forge links with 34 companies new to the showcase - including Alpha Data Parallel Systems, Mentor Graphics, Pall Corporation and ST Microelectronics - as well as some of 2005's hottest exhibitors.

The showcase, delivered by Connect Scotland on behalf of Scottish Enterprise, will also incorporate a series of seminars, aimed at discovering new applications and markets for existing technologies.

Harry Tee, Chairman of the Electronics Leadership Council, will then address a dinner in the evening, at Edinburgh's Royal Museum, on the theme of "Innovation in the global electronics industry".

The evening will also feature a speech by Jack Perry, CEO of Scottish Enterprise.

Neil Francis, director of Scottish Enterprise Edinburgh and Lothian, said: "Scotland has a long tradition of creativity and innovation in the electronics sector".

"This event will enable Scottish companies to showcase their range of technology and products to potential new customers, investors and suppliers, while also profiling Scotland as an international centre of excellence for research, design and innovation in new and emerging technologies".

Andrew McNair, managing director of Connect Scotland, added: "Representing the breadth of Scotland's expertise in these key industries, this event provides fertile ground for fresh thinking and mutually beneficial connections".

"It is a rare chance to make contacts across the full range of electronics players - from major multinationals to promising young academic spinout companies - all under one roof".

"For the larger companies, it is an opportunity to engauge with potential suppliers and partners, based right on their doorsteps".

"Likewise, our ambitious younger enterprises have the chance to find new means of driving their innovations to wider commercial success".
