Sundance announces availability of Radio Giga

A Sundance Multiprocessor Technology product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Oct 24, 2008

Sundance has introduced Radio Giga to the high-end communications market.

Radio Giga provides designers with a cross technology platform (XTP) that is user configurable by processing fabric, architecture, comms ports and protocol.

Radio Giga's XTP capabilities are driven by a modular design that integrates multiprocessing technologies and backwards compatibility with other architectures.

Radio Giga features multiple Virtex 4 and Virtex 5 Xilinx FPGAs, Dual C Series TI DSP engines with 260MBytes/s Serial RapidIO (SRIO) communication links, Power PC processor cores and six channels of low power GHz E2V ADC.

Being 1U compliant, Radio Giga delivers rack real-estate efficiencies and offers Gigabit Ethernet and USB interconnection.

To support I/Q demodulation and to get the digitising accuracy needed for Radio Giga, Sundance selected dual 1Gsps ADC from E2V.

Six channels of GHz E2V ADC are available on Radio Giga for maximum bandwidth.

With an operating frequency of 1GHz and 2MB on-chip level 2 cache each, the dual C6455 TI GHz DSPs deliver the highest fixed point processing power in the C6000 family.

Design support is available from TI's Code Composer Studio and 3L's Diamond multiprocessor tool suite, and Radio Giga's hardware conforms to the Texas Instruments Module (TIM) standard.

Radio Giga also features FPGAs from Xilinx.

Virtex 4 and Virtex 5 FPGAs provide parallel processing resources as well as embedded Power PC cores, multiple RocketIO serial transceivers and the highest amount of DSP blocks.

Radio Giga will be exhibited at booth 215 at the Embedded Systems Conference, Hynes Convention Center, Boston, 28-29 October.

Radio Giga is immediately available from Sundance's international sales offices.
