So IPv6 will be essential for future networked products.
IPv6 fixes a number of problems in IPv4, such as the limited number of available addresses, and adds many improvements in areas such as routing and network configuration.
IPv6 is expected to gradually replace IPv4, with the two coexisting for a number of years during a transition period.
SDC Systems, a leading distributor of embedded technology, is able to provide all the components that engineers need to develop products with IPv6 functionality.
Using MQX Embedded's MQX real-time operating system as a platform, SDC now offer a range of packages comprising MQX IPNEt, MQX IPLite and MQX IPLite Secure that incorporate advanced protocols developed by Swedish company Interpeak.
All these have been optimised to give seamless operation with the MQX RTOS.
"At SDC, we are increasingly focused on providing complete solutions that help our customers develop their products faster and get them into the marketplace successfully", stated Stuart Parker, Managing Director of SDC Systems.
"The MQX and Interpeak integration is an important combination that will be of great benefit to a lot of engineering teams".
Leveraging Interpeak's IPv6 technology, MQX RTOS developers will be able to build secure, Internet-connected embedded systems for sale in markets that already require or plan to use the new protocol.
Target applications include SOHO routers, broadband access, IP telephones, network storage, online gaming consoles, military communications and wireless access points.
SDC Systems are able to provide a broad range of embedded technology products to enable such development.
