At the forthcoming AAE-07, automotive electronics event, SDC Systems will host the UK launch of a range of ASIC and FPGA design acceleration tools The AAE-2007 (Advanced Automotive Electronics Show) will be held at the Heritage Motor Centre in Gaydon on 31st January, and SDC Systems will be exhibiting a range of leading edge embedded development tools and software

An important new technology to feature on SDC's stand will be the powerful ASIC and FPGA development tools from Austrian company GE-Research, a member of the MSC group.

Consisting of hardware development platforms and SEmulation, a powerful FPGA design simulation and emulation tool, SDC is expecting considerable interest around this technology.

"We have been looking for a development platform for FPGAs for a while and we are delighted to have found GE-Research and their development platforms and SEmulation technology, as it fits with our key objective of identifying and promoting new and highly productive tools to the UK market", said Stuart Parker, Managing Director of SDC Systems.

"The SEmulation technology will be of great benefit to designers building increasingly large and complex FPGAs that do not have the budget for a fully featured emulator but are faced with the need to undertake extensive simulation before committing the design to full production".

"SEmulation will increase design security and decrease development time without any additional hardware cost".

"The UK has a very active ASIC and FPGA development community, we feel sure this technology will be of great interest to this part of the embedded engineering sector".

SDC reckons that one such FPGA development platform, the Hpe-midi, is the most flexible FPGA and ASIC development system available on the market today.

The FPGA is contained on a removable module with different FPGA modules available and more in development.

Currently SDC offers modules with Altera Stratix II, and Stratix III will follow shortly.
