Sondrel joins MagmaTies programme
Sondrel has joined Magma Design Automation's MagmaTies programme.
Sondrel, the leading European back-end IC design consultancy, has recently joined Magma Design Automation's MagmaTies programme.
Sondrel has already completed many deep submicron layouts (0.13um and below), including four 90nm ICs using Magma's BlastFusion netlist-to-GDSII design flow for cell-based ICs.
Explains Alan Runcie, Vice President European Operations at Magma: "Sondrel is the largest European design consultancy specialising in physical implementation, and DSM design is where they offer real expertise".
"That's a perfect fit with Magma, as our products are ideally suited for fine line geometries".
He continues: "Our design flow is based on a unified data model, rather than a series of point tools communicating through a database".
"This means that there is only a single executable".
"For DSM designs this approach is orders of magnitude faster than other flows, and the memory footprint is much smaller".
Adds Sondrel founder, Graham Curren: "We have worked with Magma since our inception, completing more than a dozen 90 and 130mm designs using the Magma flow in the last year ".
(Prior to launching Sondrel, Curren worked as a contract product development engineer at Magma).
"There is very good relationship between our two companies".
"Now we are formally part of the MagmaTies programme, our customers can be even more confident that Sondrel has the best resources available to complete highly complex chip designs".
