Recipients of the award are selected by the SEMI North American Advisory Board, and the award is presented in conjunction with the SEMI Washington Forum, the organisation's annual executive conference in Washington, DC.
"We are very happy to present the award to Chairman George Miller this year", said Victoria Hadfield, president of SEMI North America.
"He has long been a strong ally in promoting math and science education so that we can ensure that the United States has a qualified workforce to maintain our technological leadership".
"SEMI was honoured to have Chairman Miller attend our 2005 Washington Forum dinner and meet with member company executives to discuss a range of innovation policy priorities".
"He quickly demonstrated his leadership on this issue when he helped draft the House Democrats' Innovation Agenda shortly thereafter".
Hadfield continued: "We appreciate Chairman Miller's leadership to address critical innovation challenges facing our country and for working so hard on this initiative".
