S-1142 supplies power for interior vehicle systems

A Seiko Instruments product story
Edited by the Electronicstalk editorial team Jul 28, 2010

Seiko Instruments' S-1142 voltage regulator provides a constant-voltage power supply for electrical applications in vehicle interiors and electronic home appliances.

It has has a high-voltage, low-current-consumption, low-dropout CMOS design, operating at a maximum voltage of 50V and a consumption of 4uA.

The S-1142 has a built-in low on-resistance transistor, providing a very small dropout voltage and a large current, and has a built-in power-off circuit.

An over-current protector prevents the load current from exceeding the capacitance of the output transistor, while a built-in thermal shutdown circuit prevents damage caused by heat.

High-density mounting can be achieved by utilising a high heat radiation HSOP-6 package.
