Sequoia Technology is to distribute and support two new ranges of cost-effective dual-band GSM modem/telephone devices from Falcom.

The plug and play devices are aimed at users of mobile office, automotive and remote control and monitoring devices who require wireless access to the Internet.

Falcom's compact Twist and Swing plug and play fully type approved dual-band GSM engines from Sequoia provide system integrators with the ability to provide quick and easy connection to PC or processor based applications.

Able to manage data, SMS, fax and voice communications, both Twist and Swing devices feature a Windows-based driver and integrated GSM antenna, with Windows based test and evaluation software also available to accelerate the design process.

In addition, Falcom's application software offers a comfortable MMI for end users without any deep technical background.

Both models feature a RS232 interface, SIM card slot and audio interface, and optional accessories such as headsets, handsets and power adapters are also available.

The Twist requires a 5V DC power supply, measures 114 x 52 x 27mm without the antenna and weighs just 92g, while the Swing weighs 188g, requires a 10.8-31.2V DC power supply and includes an integrated battery backup with charging circuit and car voltage range power supply for easy mobile operation.
