Sequoia's portfolio of Xicor programmable mixed signal devices can now be configured via LabVIEW, using new software and drivers jointly developed by Xicor and Cal-Bay Systems.

The toolset includes a graphical user interface (GUI), LabVIEW 5.1 run-time system, LabWindows/CVI 5.5 run-time system for application development, and LabVIEW device drivers.

The supporting hardware evaluation kit is also available from Sequoia.

The LabVIEW test and measurement environment is easy to use and familiar to many engineers.

These new drivers enable Xicor mixed signal devices, including new digitally controlled potentiometers and fibre optic products, to be rapidly evaluated and programmed.

LabVIEW is suitable for breadboarding, prototyping and manufacturing.

The easy to use Xicor LabVIEW GUI allows designers to quickly configure user programmable features, while low level device drivers allow programmability of specific features such as voltage gains, comparator threshold levels and other key analogue parameters.

The drivers also implement I2C and SPI protocols.

The software operates with any PC running Microsoft Windows 98/NT/2000.

Schematics for the evaluation board are also included, enabling developers to build their own hardware.

LabView interworks with a wide variety of enterprise computing applications including CAD packages, control software, data acquisition systems and management tools.

It is a highly scalable environment through which a large group of developers can jointly collaborate on product designs to reduce development time and raise their productivity.

The Xicor LabVIEW toolset allows designers to exploit these benefits to reduce time to market for designs incorporating Xicor's mixed signal programmable devices.

The mixed signal LabVIEW development toolset is available free of charge and can be downloaded from Sequoia's website.
