Sequoia Wireless is strengthening its capability in the GSM technology field, thanks to a new franchise agreement with Siemens to market the company's cellular engines, terminals and modules.

Customers will benefit from leading technical solutions based on Siemens Wireless product range, all carrying type approval.

Wireless modules from Siemens offer GSM and GPRS developers the performance required for transmission of voice, data, SMS and fax via cellular networks.

Supporting both the GSM 900 and the GSM 1800 standard, they are easily integrated into mobile and fixed devices.

The ultracompact and powerful TC35 dual-band cellular engine offers voice, data, SMS and fax with triple-rate capability and basic hands-free operation.

Just 54.5 x 36 x 6.7mm in size and weighing only 18g, its small lightweight design also offers designers low 3mA power consumption in sleep mode, providing the ideal cost-efficient solution for applications such as mobile computing devices, POS/EFT terminals, telemetry and telephony.

Siemens' latest MC35 cellular engine adds GPRS capability to dual-band EGSM900 and GSM1800 for data, voice, SMS and fax, all in a small, lightweight and low-power design.

The module allows OEMs to integrate faster wireless Web access into their designs: to build GPRS into notebooks, PDAs, smart phones and other devices.

Full compatibility with functions of the TC35 makes it easy to migrate GSM applications up to GPRS, and gain the advantages of a permanent online connection, fast data access and higher data transmission rates.

MC35 and TC35 terminals round out Sequoia's Siemens Wireless lineup, giving OEMs a choice of full plug-and-play solutions complete with industrial interfaces, dual-band GSM functionality and integrated SIM card readers.

These solutions are backed a comprehensive range of manufacturer's evaluation boards, software development tools and design kits, plus GSM starter kits, training courses and technical support packages specially developed by Sequoia.
