Heat flux sensors find distribution
Sequoia Sensors is to offer the Vatell range of fast-responding heat flux microsensors following a European partnership agreement.
Sequoia Sensors is to offer the Vatell range of fast-responding heat flux microsensors, rugged Thermogage devices in a range of sensor and housing combinations, and a complementary range of signal conditioning amplifiers following a European partnership agreement Vatell manufactures the widest selection of heat flux measurement instruments available from any manufacturer, including sensors for aerospace, medical engineering and process control applications

The HFM range of heat flux microsensors boasts the industry's fastest response times, clocked at around 65s.
Their patented manufacturing process gives other substantial advantages over traditional sensors: such as minimal effects on measured variables; and the ability to measure both heat flux and approximate temperature at the face of the sensor.
The HFM series operate up to 850C without cooling.
A complementary range of signal conditioning amplifiers is available to maximise precision and sensitivity.
Based on a thermopile with 1600 thermocouples per square centimetre, the BF family of heat flux sensors determine the direction and magnitude of heat transfer by conduction, radiation and convection.
Just 0.2mm thick, their patented thick-film construction ensures high flexibility as well as excellent sensitivity and low thermal resistance.
Vatell's Thermogage range uses a differential thermocouple measuring the temperature difference between the centre and circumference of a thin circular foil disc.
The design offers high sensitivity together with excellent linearity and repeatability.
There is a wide variety of housing combinations in both water-cooled and conduction cooled versions, all featuring rugged metal construction.
This line-up of standard sensors meets 99% of customer needs, however Sequoia can also supply custom designed sensors and housings to meet special requirements.
This even extends to the depositing of sensors directly on to many test objects.
