Thermistor slims for compact
applications
A new ultraminiature thermistor that can be installed in hypodermic and other tubing less than 1mm in diameter has been introduced by Sequoia Sensors.
A new ultraminiature thermistor that can be installed in hypodermic and other tubing less than 1mm in diameter has been introduced by Sequoia Sensors, following a UK partnership agreement with Betatherm, manufacturer of high precision thermistor sensors and probe assemblies The new micro-Betachip from Sequoia is Betatherm's smallest packaged thermistor, and is ideal for temperature measurement applications including medical instrumentation where an extremely rapid response is required, and space is very limited

Sequoia Technology is broadening its range of solutions for location and positioning, with a new family of advanced ultraminiature GPS modules.
The thermistor's low mass gives a time constant of just 200ms, making it ideal for applications as diverse as low volume flow sensors, temperature tracking control, medical catheters and bath/ shower temperature control.
Overall diameter of the probe is 0.457mm, allowing it to be installed in 20AWG (0.914mm diameter) thin wall hypodermic tubing.
Sequoia is offering Betatherm's complementary custom probe assemblies, to protect the thermistor element from high humidity and mechanical shock.
Sequoia's new agreement with Betatherm covers the full range of NTC thermistor products, from chip thermistor elements to precision epoxy or glass coated discrete devices with leads.
These discrete devices are used as the basis for complex probe assemblies and offer solutions to a wide range of thermal sensing applications.
These assemblies are suitable for temperature measurement and sensing from -80 to +300C.
Betatherm is the only European manufacturer to be awarded ESA/QPL (European Space Agency/Qualified Parts List) approvals for the manufacture of NTC thermistor components and probe assemblies.
Betatherm products have been supplied to all major European space programs.
For HVAC and refrigeration applications, Sequoia offers Betatherm's range of sensors and probes for applications such as trailer/truck refrigeration units, building management systems, air conditioning and surface sensing of water tanks and ovens.
