Sensors business signs new lines
Sequoia Sensors will celebrate its first anniversary with new agreements with three manufacturers of precision components and an extended partnership with a fourth.
Sequoia Sensors will celebrate its first anniversary with new agreements with three manufacturers of precision components and an extended partnership with a fourth, following an enormously successful start.
New partnerships have been signed with Betatherm of Galway, for precision thermistor sensors and probe assemblies, Coto Technology of Rhode Island for high performance small signal switching products and Thaler Corp of Tucson, Arizona for ultra-high-precision voltage references and ADCs.
Sequoia's existing partnership with Vatell of Virginia for precision heat flux sensors has been extended to Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Chris Binsley, Director, Sequoia Sensors Division said, "Following on from our success since announcing the division in May 2002, we have identified specific companies that complement our existing relationships with Ametherm, Paine and Vatell, providing specialist solutions to target markets such as aerospace, food and drink and medical instrumentation".
Nick Lidington, Managing Director of Sequoia Technology added, "Sequoia Sensors is heading for GBP 1 million sales in 2003, its first full year of operation.
This is even more impressive when you realise it is based on new design-in activity with a lead time of 6-9 months.
Its success is based on a portfolio with the right products, a team of exceptionally good engineers, and a business model that understands the design-in process within specialist sectors".
Commenting on the Vatell's relationship with Sequoia, Larry Langley, Founder and President of Vatell said, "Sequoia's achievement with our line has been extremely impressive, and as a result we are very happy to extend the relationship with them to further markets in Europe.
Their team has an in-depth understanding of the applications, terminology and culture of the industries and countries in which they operate, and have built a business that is relatively unaffected by the current industry downturn".
