TDK brings networking, smart cards and power

Sequoia has concluded a franchise agreement with TDK Semiconductor.

Sequoia has concluded a franchise agreement with TDK Semiconductor, to strengthen its portfolio of 10/100 Industrial Ethernet solutions, and add low cost smart card ICs and single chip power meters to its range.

TDK Semiconductor modems, set top box solutions, and WAN solutions are also covered by the agreement.

"Industrial Ethernet has always been a strength for Sequoia, and TDK's very competitive offering, including the world's smallest industrial 10/100 PHY, ensures that we remain at the leading edge in this market", said Nick Lidington, Managing Director of Sequoia.

He added, "TDK also brings us completely new solutions such as low cost Smart Card readers, and a single-chip smart card terminal controller.

These are of particular interest to customers addressing the current demand for chip and PIN support.

The newly launched single chip power meter has wide appeal to our instrumentation customers".

TDK Semiconductor is a leader in the field of mixed signal ICs for local and wide area networking, point of sale terminals, metering and smart card readers and digital cable and satellite set-top boxes.

Under the agreement, Sequoia will support the full product range including 10/100 Ethernet PHY, low-cost smart card interfaces and terminal controllers, industry leading power meter ICs, dual SCART audio/video switches, WAN transceivers, low speed modems up to V.22bis and an analogue front end for soft modems and DSP-based designs up to V.92.
