A new line of professional-quality hermetically sealed changeover-type dry reed switches allow high-reliability applications to benefit from the industry-standard Form-C contact layout for reed switches.

The Coto RI-90 series are single pole double throw switches with one normally open and one normally closed contact and are actuated by electromagnet or permanent magnet.

Applications include sensing, pulse counting, flow control, ATE switching and similar tasks requiring reliability, robustness and a long lifetime.

The 15mm long hermetically sealed glass package is compatible with wave soldering, or the package leads can also be welded.

In addition to maximising the lifetime of the switch, hermetic sealing also ensures a low contact resistance, initially 140mohm in the RI-90 series.

Current and voltage ratings are 400mA maximum switching current and 125V AC or 175V DC maximum switching voltage.

The life expectancy of RI-90 series dry reed switches is 100 million cycles, and failure rate is less than 2ppb with a confidence level of 90%.
