Test platform covers full product lifecycle
A new integrated test platform from Seica includes cutting-edge technology to implement the multiple test strategies needed to address the challenges of electronic testing.
System speeds PCB test throughput
Flying probe test system addresses demand for cost-effective test solutions that will further enhance ease of programming, high fault coverage and fast throughput for PCB test.
The product must come at the right price and the right quality - which means that the manufacturing itself, and not just the product, needs to be innovative, to remain cost effective without compromising quality levels.
The key to cost efficiency is the creation of a process that is fast, flexible and repeatable, so it is therefore no surprise that many companies have invested heavily in automating their manufacturing processes, selecting the right equipment able to produce an output of repeatable quality and that allows maximum flexibility to accommodate the high product mix and rapid changeovers which have become the norm in today's competitive market.
These include the Strategy.sl, a fully automated in-circuit/functional bed of nails tester, the Pilot VIP system, Seica's full-performance automated flying probe tester for loaded boards, the S24 BBT flying probe tester for bare boards, and the Firefly, a laser selective soldering system.

Penny + Giles has added to its range the JC6000 robust multi-axis joysticks designed for demanding operator control applications.
Seica's products meet the GEM (Generic Model for Communication and Control of Manufacturing Equipment) standard.
In addition, the mechanical interface on these products also adheres to the SMEMA (Surface Mount Equipment Manufacturer's Association) standard.
Strategy.sl is the latest addition to the VIP Strategy Line of board testers.
Strategy.sl integrates in-circuit, functional and visual test solutions on a fully automated SMEMA standard conveyor for loading and unloading of boards under test, making it the ideal test solution for integration into a completely automated production line, or into a stand-alone test island.
The system is also easily networked to a repair or programming station.
The system is fully compatible (hardware and software) with the other, standalone Strategy testers, and test programs can be developed, debugged and run on any system of the Strategy Line, and moved to the automated Strategy.sl when production ramps up.
Seica's innovative Pilot VIP Flying Probe system is a full-performance test system that integrates a complete set of test tools and techniques that go beyond the conventional definition of "flying prober".
It is another product in Seica's portfolio of automated test solutions, and includes a SMEMA conveyor which is completely user-programmable to suit various manufacturing/test process layouts.
The system includes the hardware and software features of Seica's unique Viva integrated platform (VIP), and can be fully loaded to cover the full range of in-circuit and functional test as well as providing additional capabilities such as AOI inspection, boundary-scan and onboard programming.
Seica's S24 BBT flying probe tester for bare PCBs, connected to the innovative Multi-Type (MT) board handler, is ideal for the high mix, low volume manufacturing environment typical in today's PCB market, as the user can load various numbers of different PCBs into the board handler, which are then conveyed into the system by the SMEMA conveyor included in the S24 BBT, tested, and conveyed back out of the system and sorted by test result, enabling completely operator-free test cycles.
The large test area (610 x 610mm) provides optimum versatility for all types and sizes and boards, and the Viva Integrated Platform ensures fast and easy test program generation and implementation, another key factor for cost effective testing.
Seica has extended its range of solutions for the electronics industry to include Firefly, another automated product designed to meet the increasing need for automatic selective soldering, using the power of laser technology.
Firefly is also based on Seica's Viva integrated platform, offering all of the advantages of the simple, three step process for generating, verifying and running a soldering program, plus a multitude of additional software tools that can be used to further optimize system flexibility and performance.
The integrated temperature control system provides continuous feedback during the soldering process, with real-time on-screen display of the thermal profiles.
Firefly is equipped with a SMEMA board conveyor system for easy integration into any production line.
